FIRST RECONCILIATION / FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION, 2022-23

Greetings Parents and Guardians,

We are so happy that you have decided to register your child to prepare for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion.

Our program will begin in September. The preparation is a combination of home preparation and sessions in the church. The home preparation for each sacrament will have its own book that your child will have at home to complete with you there. For the in-person meetings there will be 3 meetings for First Reconciliation and 3 meetings for First Communion. These meetings will take place in the church hall at 7 PM and last a maximum of one hour. Catechists will guide your children in discussion of videos from the program ‘Blessed”. Parents are not required to be with their child during these meetings but after dropping them off to make sure the return no later than 8 PM to bring them home.
REGISTRATION
You can register for the sacraments online and send in all documentation.
Baptism is a pre-requisite to all the other sacraments.

If your child is not baptized, please contact us immediately to pursue the possibility of having your child enter the Christian Community through the Sacrament of Baptism.
If you are not already a registered member of St. Veronica’s parish, and wish to become a member, please see Father Ron after any weekend Mass.
The following are needed when you register:
1. A copy of your child’s Baptism Certificate.
2. A recent picture of him/her.
3. We also ask that you help subsidize the cost of the program. A donation of
$25.00 is asked (if families are able to )to subsidize the costs of the books they will take all home and this can be done following the donation page on the HOME tab on the main page of our website. An income tax receipt will be issued for these monies.

1. Attendance at Mass is an integral part of the preparation process. Your child will better understand the information given in the videos and be able to apply the concepts in his/her own way. During the home preparation and the in person preparation parts of the Mass are explained, and it is only through attending Mass that this will have lasting meaning for them.
Please review the dates of the meetings and times. Each meeting is especially important in the preparation of your child to receive the Eucharist. For this reason, attendance at ALL meetings is required.

Wednesday, October 12 ,7 PM for parents only to explain process and out books and decide on enrolment date.

October 15/16 enrolment. Saturday or Sunday decided at parent meeting.

Wednesday November 9 at 7:00 PM
Wednesday November 23 at 7:00 PM
Wednesday November 30 PM – Celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation

Preparation for First Communion:
Wednesday April 26^th at 7:00 PM
Wednesday May 17 at 7:00 PM
Wednesday May 31 at 7:00 PM
First communion celebration June 11 .
